Today's student comes from our Publications Division! Congratulations to the FCSPA Student of the Month for December... Daniela Lopez of
Miami Dade College! She was nominated by her advisor, Emily Sendin.
Here is what Emily shared with us about Daniela: "Daniela Lopez is the co-editor-in-chief of Urbana Literary and Arts magazine volume 14. In this major leadership role, Daniela has shown much growth as both writer, editor, and leader. She has taken on many behind the scenes tasks that make the magazine run smoothly. From creating a weekly agenda for meetings, drafting a budget, editing all web and social media content, to being active in the creation of the new Urbana blog and running Urbana meetings, Daniela is always present and available. Her calm yet assertive leadership style offers a much-needed balance to the team.
In addition to her role in Urbana, Daniela is also an active member of her campus and the local community. She is the secretary of the recently founded JapAnime club. She has also participated as a volunteer in activities with clubs such as Cancer Out, for Phi Theta Kappa, which raised awareness against cancer. She has also volunteered at Lotus House to help facilitate the work of families in need. Additionally, she is part of the Humanities Edge Undergraduate Research cohort. Her research focuses on finding relationships between the psychoanalytic theories of Freud and Jung and various literary pieces. She will be presenting her findings at the Humanities Edge Symposium in December 2020. Daniela is a smart and engaged young woman who has much to offer Urbana magazine and her community. We are all very proud of her achievements."
We are so excited to honor this student, Daniela Lopez, as our Publications Student of the Month! Congratulations to Daniela, and thank you Ms. Sendin for nominating her.
