Forensics Student of the Month: April 2021

Congratulations to the Forensics Division Student of the Month for April... Maria Corredor from Miami Dade College! Maria was nominated by her advisor, William Murphy.

Here's what William told us about Maria: "Over the 2020-21 academic year, Maria has won the following awards: 5th NPDA and Top Novice Impromptu at the FIFA state tournament. State Champion IPDA debate, 3rd Place Speaker IPDA debate, 3rd place NPDA debate, 6th Place Extemporaneous Speaker, and 4th Place Impromptu Speaking at the FCSAA Championship. Third Place Lincoln Douglas Debate, Third Place Speaker Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Top Novice Speaker Lincoln Douglas Debate at the Lynn Gold Coast Debates Swing Tournament. It has been a blessing working with Maria Corredor as a member of the MDC Forensics Society. Maria is a dedicated student who challenges herself and her teammates to be their best. She is kind and generous and finds success in forensics despite competing in her second language. She is always willing to promote the club and has been featured in multiple campus promotional videos. She was tasked with preparing an interview with Congressperson Maria Elvira Salazar for Women's History Month, which she handled with grace and professionalism despite the event being forced to be rescheduled. She is a thoughtful and conscientious student, deserving of commendation."

Congratulations to this student, Maria Corredor, our Forensics Student of the Month!
