Congratulations to the Theatre Student of the Month for November... Katie Stokes from Eastern Florida State College! Katie was nominated by her advisor, Selena Ambush. Here is what Selena shared with us about Katie:

"Katie Stokes embodies the ideal Theatre student at Eastern Florida State College. In serving as our production Stage Manager for the last three semesters, Katie has earned the trust and respect of the cast and student crew members throughout each rehearsal process. Our professional staff and faculty have also observed that Katie is an ideal student Stage Manager. Despite a rigorous rehearsal schedule, Katie maintains a 3.4 grade point average and was on the Dean’s List in the Spring of 2025. In addition to her Stage Management skills, Katie also has experience in Costume Design and construction, offering a specialized skill in jewelry making. She even has experience as a Director. Katie will be graduating in December of 2025. She hopes to begin working in Stage Management or Costume Design at one of the Orlando area theme parks, but she is also considering transferring to a four-year theatre program to complete a bachelor’s degree.

Katie runs rehearsals and performances with a considerate but steady tone that is ideal for educational theatre. Her gentle influence helps to serve as a model for other students as to how to behave pleasantly but professionally in the Theatre. Outside of rehearsals, Katie is also the person in the EFSC Theatre Department that is always looking out for others. She is conscientious in her attitude and actions and is the first person to point out when someone else deserves recognition or when they need a kind word. Because Katie herself is innately kind."
