Congratulations to our SGA Student of the Month for July... Arquimedes Rivero from Miami Dade College! Arquimedes was nominated by his advisor Annie Sosa!

"I have had the privilege of working closely with Arquimedes, who serves as the President of the Student Government Association at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, is one of our college’s Changemaking Ambassadors, and appointed the significant responsibility of serving as the student representative for our Board of Trustees. I can confidently say that he is an exceptional leader and an outstanding individual.

Arquimedes’s dedication to his role roles is truly inspiring and has exponentially catapulted since his days as an SGA Senator. His commitment to service and his unwavering presence at college and community events have left an indelible mark on our hearts. One can always count on Arquimedes to be present, actively engaging with his peers and advocating for positive change.

Something that sets Arquimedes apart is his remarkable ability to connect with others and his genuine passion for making a difference. He has gone above and beyond his duties, organizing attendance from his senators to various community service initiatives, such as food drives with local commissioners, restoration projects with non-profit agencies and much more. His innate ability to mobilize his fellow students and create meaningful partnerships has resulted in tangible improvements within our community during his brief time at the college.

Arquimedes’s dedication to civic engagement and financial literacy is truly admirable. Recognizing the importance of student feedback, he took the initiative to establish the Campus Response committee within the Wolfson SGA. Through this committee, Arquimedes actively seeks input from students to ensure that their needs are met and their voices are heard. His empathetic nature, kindness, and social skills make him approachable and well-respected among his peers.

I must also highlight Arquimedes’s unwavering reliability and professionalism. He approaches every responsibility with a strong sense of accountability and consistently demonstrates excellent teamwork and communication skills. His genuine passion for service combined with his strong leadership qualities have made him a true asset to the college community, all while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average.

Arquimedes’s exceptional character, dedication, and genuine commitment to service make him an ideal candidate for the Student of the Month award. I am confident that he will continue to make a positive impact wherever he goes, and his leadership will inspire others to actively engage in their communities.
