Congratulations to the Brain Bowl Division Student of the Month for April... Alejandro Jimenez-Tellado from Santa Fe College! He was nominated by his coach, Asha Brunings.
Here is what Asha shared with us about Alejandro: "Alejandro is one of the hardest-working Brain Bowl team members I know. He is highly competitive and is willing to do what it takes to learn and improve. Alejandro takes detailed notes during practice, studies question packets on his own outside of practice, and is always ready to "do some more questions." When he joined the team in the spring of 2020, he was the team's math expert. Since then, he's grown into an all-around player, answering questions on literature, humanities, and science. At the FCSAA State Championship Tournament, he placed 4th individually further demonstrating how much he has learned over the past year. Alejandro has demonstrated leadership skills by encouraging the team to do better and improve. His wry sense of humor makes practices fun for everyone. Alejandro sometimes runs practices when his coach is not present and even attends the practices of another college to increase his exposure to people competing at different levels. He frequently posts pictures and links to pages on the team's online practice space to improve everyone's abilities. Alejandro's let's-go-get-'em attitude sets a great example to his team members and will serve him well in his future career."
Congratulations to this outstanding student and our thanks to Asha Brunings for nominating him!
