Congratulations to the Student Government Student of the Month for March... Autumn Plumer from Hillsborough College! Autumn was nominated by her advisor, Christina Dixon. Here is what Christina shared with us about Autumn:
"Autumn Plummer currently serves as the Hillsborough College Plant City Campus Student Government Association President and the Region 2 Alternate for Jurisprudence. She has been actively involved in SGA since 2024, beginning her leadership journey as a senator. From the start, Autumn demonstrated initiative by consistently attending Florida College System Student Government Association conferences and seeking opportunities to expand her leadership capacity. Throughout her involvement, Autumn has played a vital role in the planning and execution of numerous large-scale campus events. Her ability to connect with students across campus has significantly increased event attendance and overall student engagement. Through her strong communication skills and genuine friendships with peers, she has helped foster a more unified and involved campus community. Autumn demonstrates a strong sense of discipline, accountability, and service. These qualities are evident in the way she approaches her responsibilities with consistency, professionalism, and dedication. She has steadily taken on additional leadership roles, demonstrating growth, maturity, and a commitment to excellence. In addition to her leadership involvement, Autumn successfully balances her academic responsibilities, maintaining strong performance while fulfilling the demands of her roles. She regularly attends conferences and trainings to further develop her leadership skills and represent her campus with integrity and pride. Autumn has truly flourished into an exceptional leader whose excellence is reflected in her service, commitment, and measurable impact on campus engagement and I would highly recommend her to be recognized!
Autumn leads through initiative and action. She has a natural ability to identify what needs to be done and takes responsibility without being asked. Her leadership is rooted in service as she is present on campus daily, consistently dedicating her time and energy to improving the student experience and strengthening her community. Throughout her involvement, Autumn has continually stepped into greater responsibility. She transitioned into the Secretary role when needed, later assumed the role of President, and went on to serve in a regional FCSSGA position driven by her passion for educating and empowering others. Her willingness to step forward during times of transition reflects both courage and commitment. Autumn actively mentors and supports fellow students, offering guidance and encouragement that fosters confidence and collaboration within SGA. Her growth from a quiet, reserved individual into a confident and outspoken leader is a powerful testament to her character and resilience. Others respond positively to her leadership because it is authentic, consistent, and grounded in genuine care for those around her. Beyond campus, Autumn engages with the local community to organize events and think creatively about partnerships, further extending her impact through meaningful service.
Congratulations, Autumn! Thank you to Ms. Dixon for nominating this outstanding student!
