Publications Student of the Month: February

Congratulations to the Publications Student of the Month for February... Priscilla Pacheco from Miami Dade College! Priscilla was nominated by her advisor, Emily Andrea Sendin. Here is what Emily shared with us about Priscilla:

"Priscilla Pacheco is an invaluable member of the StoryBytes Media team. She has demonstrated outstanding excellence in her role as Webmaster and Newsletter Editor, serving as a vital leader within our staff. From the outset, she took initiative in building our website entirely from scratch—designing its structure, organizing content and ensuring that it reflects both the professionalism and mission of our organization. Her ability to transform ideas into a cohesive, user-friendly digital platform speaks to her technical skill, creativity and strategic thinking. As Newsletter Editor, Priscilla consistently upholds high editorial standards. She carefully edits for clarity, tone, grammar, and consistency, ensuring that each publication aligns with our voice and values. Her attention to detail is exceptional; she not only corrects surface-level errors but also listens to feedback that strengthens content development and storytelling. Beyond her technical and editorial skills, Priscilla is remarkably reliable. She meets deadlines, communicates proactively, and responds thoughtfully to feedback. When given suggestions, she implements them with care and often improves upon them, demonstrating both humility and a genuine commitment to growth. Her professionalism, consistency, and collaborative spirit make her a dependable presence on the team. Most importantly, Priscilla is a valuable asset whose leadership extends beyond her title. She understands the larger vision of our work and ensures that our digital presence reflects excellence at every level. Her initiative, work ethic, and dedication to quality distinguish her as an exemplary contributor and leader within our organization. Priscilla has demonstrated strong leadership across campus and in the community through service, initiative, and active engagement. As a Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) junior officer, she holds a formal leadership role, contributing to chapter planning and supporting initiatives that promote scholarship and service. Her involvement in the English Honor Society and Letter Exchange for Awareness and Progress (LEAP) Club further reflects her commitment to academic excellence, collaborative leadership, and community involvement. Through Sharks Guiding Sharks, she mentors and supports fellow students, helping them navigate campus resources and feel a sense of belonging. She has also volunteered for MDC Convocation and Kendall Campus Information Sessions, serving as a welcoming and knowledgeable ambassador for the college. She also participated during Changemaker Week and Unify America, supporting civic engagement efforts and civic dialogue initiatives that promote constructive conversation. Across each of these roles, Priscilla consistently leads by example through reliability, service, and a genuine commitment to strengthening her campus and community. Beyond campus, Priscilla works as a classroom aide at Sweetwater Elementary, preparing lesson materials and assisting teachers with classroom activities.

Congratulations, Priscilla! Thank you to Ms. Sendin for nominating her for this recognition!
