Congratualtions to the Brain Bowl Student of the Month for August... Saumya Khelani from Valencia College! Saumya was nominated by her advisor Chris Borglum. Here is what Chris shared with us about Saumya: 

"Saumya completed her first year on the Valencia Brain Bowl team as a dual-enrolled high school junior, following in the footsteps of her older brother Rohan, who also played for the team. Saumya has distinguished herself as a quiz bowl player and leader. Last year, despite being younger than her teammates and the only high school student, her coach named her captain of Valencia's top team for the FCSAA Regional and State tournaments. Her teammates clearly respect her and are happy to have her leading responses in tournaments.

Saumya has been a moderator at three Brain Bowl tournaments outside of FCSAA this year, including serving as Tournament Director of an August tournament held at Valencia, likely making her the youngest person to ever be a TD in Florida. She is organized and capable of clear communication with people, displaying maturity and leadership beyond her years."
