Congratulations to Caroline Horvath!

Congratulations to Caroline Horvath!

Congratulations to Caroline Horvath, Florida Gateway College, who was named our February 2016 Forensics Student of the Month! She was nominated by her coach, Dr. Sheri Carder.

Here's what Dr. Carder had to say about Caroline: “This 18-year old student first began as a dual enrollment, home-schooled kid, following her older brother to our team practices. She had some background in FFA and 4H. She joined the team this year and LOVES this team and the challenges. We complete service learning activities -- traveling out into our community and sharing our Forensics competition entries. For example, we do an “Evening of Literature” at the county library with our oral interpretation pieces, we do Readers Theatre for the Take Stock in Children program, we do our speeches for the veterans in the local V.A. Hospital, and we read story books to local grade schools. Caroline never misses. She has entered three different categories in her first semester with us. She is always the one I count on to meet the deadlines, have her materials ready, help prep the newbies to the team, and help organize our travel. Although this is her first year on the team, she received a finalist award at Florida Southern. Imagine this shy, home-schooled young woman, now competing at the state level.”

Our thanks to Dr. Carder for taking the time to nominate Caroline for this recognition. Great job, Caroline!
