Congratulations to William Grossman, Broward College, who was selected as our Brain Bowl Division Student of the Month for March. He was nominated by his Brain Bowl coach, Dr. Tony DeLia.
Here’s what Dr. DeLia shared with us about William: “William is an outstanding member of the Brain Bowl team. Over the course of this competition season, he has placed in the top 10 in individual scoring at five major tournaments, including top 5 finishes at the FCSAA Brain Bowl Southern Regional, where his team went undefeated to win the tournament and qualify for the State Championship, and the NAQT South Florida Community College Sectional, where he ranked #2 overall in the final standings and his team qualified for the CCCT, and the FCSAA Brain Bowl State Championship. Most recently he was ranked #8 at the NAQT National Championships (CCCT) among 111 individuals in Chicago. He has averaged 40 points per game or more at five tournaments this year. William has also been a leader for the team, recruiting many new members and regularly organizing and running practices independently, beyond the normal schedule. William is a dual enrollment student at Broward College, set to complete high school and his AA degree simultaneously this spring. In addition to Brain Bowl, William is the President of the College Science Club, active in scientific research with professors, and is a member of the Model United Nations, Robotics and the Math Team.”
Congratulations to this outstanding student, and our thanks to Dr. DeLia for taking the time to nominate him for this recognition.
